Gratitude Attitude

Happy Thanksgiving darlings!!
Whether you celebrate this lovely holiday (that I happen to love!) or not, I hope you take the time today and everyday to acknowledge anything and anyone in your life that you feel grateful for. I am big on living with a gratitude attitude always, I really believe it makes life better to go thru it appreciating and focusing on the good rather than dwelling on the less than pleasant.
So given the occasion, I want to share with you all the things that I’m grateful for. First and foremost, I am forever grateful for the people in my life, the love of my life, my friends and family; thank you all for your love, support, acceptance, for your patience, and for always being there. I am also grateful for the people that are no longer in my life, whatever the reason, I thank you all for the good moments, for the lessons, and I truly wish you happiness and love wherever you are. I’m grateful for all the wonderful people, the lovely families, that have given me the opportunity to work with them; thank you for opening your homes to me, for trusting and sharing with me that which you love most in the world… I feel truly blessed by those opportunities, experiences, and for the love and joy they have brought to me.
Then, I am grateful for my health, because even if it’s not perfect, it has served me well. It allows me to come and go, to live and enjoy. I am grateful that whenever my health has been in trouble, I have been able to get help and take care of it. Thank you God, thank you life for such huge blessing.
Next, I am grateful to be so lucky as to have more than my basic needs covered: food, shelter, education, clothing, transportation, and any others that I might not be mentioning, well, they have been covered above and beyond.
This year, I’m particularly grateful for this blog. It allows me to indulge in things that I’m passionate about, it allows me to share them, and hopefully, maybe, just maybe, it allows me to connect with people, with someone, through them. Of course, I am grateful for you my readers, still just a few, but oh so, so grateful that you take the time to click on this little project of mine. Thank you right now for reading this, thank you so much!
And basically, I am sincerely grateful for every single thing that has happened in my life, especially the worst, because they have opened me up and, no matter how bad, they have eventually made life better. It is through those experiences that I have grown and am able to appreciate how wonderful life can be after all.
I really love my life, and have no regrets, and I am extremely grateful for that feeling.
Now, moving on to today’s look, it is one that I would’ve worn to Thanksgiving dinner with my in-laws if I wasn’t instead in my sweatpants riding a bus down to my hometown to visit my family (not that I’m complaining! It’s just the inevitable bittersweetness of not being able to be in two places at the same time).
I hope whatever you are doing today, you are enjoying it, and I’m wishing you lots of things to be grateful for!

Look of the Day: Happy Weekend

I wore this look last night, and couldn’t wait to share it with you. It got suddenly very very cold here in Phoenix this weekend, which I was actually glad about because it presented the perfect opportunity to wear this outfit. When I first saw this dress, I immediately envisioned it worn with black turtleneck and tights. I added a little sparkle with some faux diamonds and silver metallic nails (that I’m absolutely obsessed with!), and I got a winner.

I’m keeping this post very short, so both you and I can go back to enjoying our Sunday.

Wishing you darlings a lovely one!!

Look of the Day: Vest of the 90’s

Today’s look is one that I wore on my trip to Cabo, but since I didn’t really have anyone to take pictures of it over there, I decided to wear it during last weekend’s Looks of the Day photoshoot (and I’ll probably do some more Cabo looks that way, so stay tuned for those).

I am a big fan of vests (I might’ve already mentioned that) because I feel they really add that little extra something to make an outfit special, not to mention they are great layering pieces. I am particularly fond of cropped vests because they highlight one of my best assets, my waist. This denim vest is a recent adquisition, and I am in love with it, but also a little bit disturbed because it is soooo 90’s.

I’m sure it’s not news to you that 90’s fashion is back and the fact that the 90’s are now retro is exactly what’s bugging me! I mean, I can actually remember 90’s fashion, I lived it, I wore it… when it was brand new… Am I getting old or what?! (Don’t answer that!).

Anyway, regardless of my ‘getting old’ issues, I am fully embracing taking a trip down memory lane thanks to the new old 90’s trends. And I’ll definitely be re-visiting some of my favorite looks and pieces from that era, so stay tuned for that as well.
Do you have any favorite looks from the 90’s? Please share! They might serve as wonderful inspiration for future outfits.
