(Green)ery

I am happy to inform you that Pantone (in case you don’t know, they’re are the authority of color, the standard language of color communication) has announced that the color of the year 2013 will be emerald green. Why does this make me happy? Because I love jewel tones, and emerald green is pretty up there on my top list!
This announcement is not surprising since we’ve already seen this lovely jewel tone make appearances in the fashion world for the past few seasons, from runway shows to red carpets. However, this Pantone endorsement means that now there’s about to be an explosion of emerald green everywhere.
If you have any doubts about this, just look at what happened to the tangerine hue when it was name Pantone color of the year 2012…all of the sudden it was everywhere: shoes, nail polish, clothing, jewelry, makeup, and anything else you can think of, was immediately available in the vibrant hue.
So, now just make sure to add some emerald green to your holiday wish list and you’ll be prepared to join this fashionable explosion early next year.

Holiday Shopping

20121205-114636.jpg

Hello my darlings!

Sorry I’ve been absent from the blog lately, but I’ve been pretty busy… and when I’m not busy I’m just exhausted, so posting has been difficult. I’ll try really hard to shoot some Looks of the Day this weekend, but even if I fail, I do have a holiday party to attend on Saturday, so definitely will be posting photos of that outfit (which it’s still yet to be determined!! Any suggestions?).
Anyhow, I’m in really good spirits today, really feeling the holiday spirit actually, thanks to a wonderful and impromptu shopping spree last night. It had just dawn on me yesterday that as happy as I am with Christmas quickly approaching, that also means it’s time to start stressing over Christmas presents. Despite the fact that I love buying presents for everyone and anyone, trying to figure out the perfect gift for each person on my list when the clock is ticking is always a challenge. However, last night I went to the mall to return an ill-fitted sweater, and without planning it I stumbled upon several perfect gifts for a few of my loved ones. I am soooo excited about each one that I can hardly wait to deliver the surprises to its future owners.
And speaking of surprises, I am planning one for you my beloved readers! I wish I could share it with you right now but it’s not quite ready yet, so hopefully (fingers crossed!) it’ll be ready to be shared this weekend. So stay tuned for that one!
Have a lovely day y’all!

Look of the Day: Leather + Neon

I am once again on a bus, this time headed back home, and a little sad that a weekend is just not enough time to see and catch up with everyone I would’ve liked to. However, I will be back in my hometown to celebrate New Year’s Eve, and I’ll have a few more days then, so hopefully I can manage to meet up with all my friends & family.
Now, about today’s look, it was a very easy one to put together because it involves several of my favorite trends and classics: leather skirt + turtleneck+ b&w stripes + neon + statement necklace + mary janes with a twist. You pretty much can’t go wrong when involving any of these pieces in an outfit… and putting them all together into one, well, that’s just fabulous in my book.
As you know from previous posts (like this one and this one), I am obsessed with neon yellow, and this necklace is by far my favorite piece of neon I own. I just can’t get enough of it but hadn’t had the chance to show it off here on the blog. It was such a fantastic find, I got it on sale at Dillard’s for just around $12!!
Hoping you all had a wonderful weekend and wishing you an even better week ahead.
