Beauty Series: Daily Routine. Part 3.

I hope by now you’ve decided to start cleaning your face, applying a nutrient rich serum and moisturizer daily, if you weren’t doing it before that is. Our skin is not just a very important part of what makes us beautiful, but it’s also out largest organ, so we should always take care of it properly.

Now for the third part of this beauty series, comes an optional step (if you’re lucky!)… zit control. Unfortunately, I am not one of those lucky girls who gets to leave acne behind along with their teenage years. I actually, for the most part, had great skin in high school, granted I’ve been taking great care of my skin since I was 11!  However some time around 18 years old, I began slacking a bit in the skincare department, and I started breaking out. I tried to get it under control once the problem started, but nothing seemed to really work by then, in fact it got progressively worse. By my early 20’s, I was ready to try the most intense treatment my dermatologist could prescribe, and I did.  It worked great, and I hadn’t  had much trouble with acne again, other than the occasional zit… until now.

Beauty Series: Daily Routine. Part 2.

Now comes the second part of this beauty series, so let’s pick up right where we left off.

The next step in my morning beauty routine, after cleaning my face and applying eye gel,  is moisturizing my skin.  For a few years, I’ve been applying a vitamin C serum by Avalon Organics. Besides the vitamin C in it, which it’s great to fight sun damage, it’s full of antioxidants that help fight all signs of aging, from freckles to wrinkles. It’s oil-free and very light, I highly recommend it.

Following the serum, I use an oil-free moisturizer. I have tried several over the years, but since recently deciding to avoid chemicals as much as possible, I discovered a new product that it’s not from a mainstream brand and that I’m really pleased with: Neaclear Liquid Oxygen Anti-Acne Facial Moisturizer. The name is pretty self explanatory, it contains oxygen and acne fighting ingredients, including salicylic acid. It is a truly non-greasy cream, which it’s one of my favorite things about it, it doesn’t leave my face shiny at all. Plus it contains a bunch of vitamins (A,C,D and E), and no sulfates, parabens nor any other harsh chemicals. It is also very reasonably price at $6.99 for a 4 oz. bottle. This one is a keeper!

That’s it for today. Don’t miss tomorrow the final step in my morning beauty routine before moving on to my night time routine.

Avalon Organics Vitamin C Facial Serum: $18.77 at Walmart.
Neaclear Liquid Oxygen Anti-Acne Facial Moisturizer: $6.99 at Ulta.

Beauty Series: Daily Routine. Part 1.

Since I did my last post on beauty, some of you have been asking me about my daily beauty routine for my face at morning and night, and about the products I use. So I figure I would share that information with all of you here. However, it would make for one long (and possibly boring) post, so I decided to make it into a series, and I will be posting all the information in parts all throughout this week.
