Look of the Day: California

Finally I get a chance to do a little fashion post, even if I have to keep it short and sweet due to lack of time. I know that sounds like a lame excuse, but it’s true. Things have been crazy for several weeks, and even as I’m slowly trying to get back to my good ol’ routine, truth is my mind is still scattered from it all. So bear with me please.
As you know, I spent a few days in California in early April, and this is the outfit I wore my first day there. We spent it strolling down the famous Venice Beach boardwalk and soaking up some sun in Malibu beach. By the way, if you are ever in Malibu, I highly recommend you visit Malibu Kitchen at the Malibu Country Mart; it is the cutest little market where you can find fresh food and great pastries and enjoy them in a nice casual setting.
Of course for such a casual and relaxing day, I just wanted to be comfortable, so this outfit is what I chose. The weather was chillier than I was expecting, but luckily I recently scored the perfect jean jacket at Old Navy (I had been searching for one for ages!) and it did the trick.
Besides the photos of my look, I added a few others from that day, hope you enjoy them!

Look of the Day: Beach Wedding

20121030-080201.jpg

Finally I get a chance to show you the look I wore Saturday night to a beach wedding in Mexico. I went for an of-the-moment nude dress since I had been dying for an opportunity to wear one. I was torn between wearing it with nude heels or black heels because I had decided to add a black belt to the ensemble, but ended up going for the nude choice, the lighter color felt more beach appropriate.
Now, one of my favorite things about this look is my hair and makeup. The wedding was nearby my hometown and I have been going to the same stylist there for over 10 years. She’s absolutely brilliant, seriously Hollywood stylists got nothing on her. We decided to do a deep red, almost burgundy, lip color, which I adored so much I ended up buying it on the spot. And the hair, a side updo with retro waves, I loved just as much.
So, what do you think of the dramatic lip, will you be wearing darker lips this season?

El Arco

I am back from Cabo, unwillingly back to reality. However I still have some pictures to share from the trip. Of course I couldn’t leave the place without visiting its most famous landmark (seamark?), El Arco (translation: The Arch). Millions of pictures have been taken of the arch, and I’m sure you’ve probably seen many of them already, but here are my very own. Hope you enjoy them!
