Look of the Day: New York State of Mind…

After seeing the damage left behind in New York by hurricane Sandy, I’ve found myself in a New York state of mind more than ever. It’s no secret that I love New York, and my thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been devastated by this disaster. And thinking of New York is that I decided to take pictures of this outfit. I had originally planned to wear this look in NY back in September, but the weather was too hot for it. Luckily the weather here in Arizona has finally cooled down, so it seemed like a good time to wear it.

This look it’s a bit business-y and serious, so I decided to spice it up a bit with some sexy platforms. What do you think? I hope you like it as much as I do.

Wishing you darlings a wonderful week!

Trend Alert: Two much?

You know by now that I am obsessed with statement jewelry, and necklaces in particular. For me the bigger the better, but even I was a little surprised to find two of my favorite fashion bloggers (and personal sources of inspiration!) doubling up the fun by layering two statement necklaces in one outfit. Is this a new trend? Are we soon going to see layered statement pieces everywhere? I’m not so sure about that. I love the results Andy and Hallie achieved with their pieces, they do look fabulous, but this might be a tricky trend to pull off for the rest of us. What do you think? Is two too much? I guess I’ll have to test this one myself… And of course I’ll let you know how it goes.
Have a great weekend darlings!

Look of the Day: Beach Wedding

20121030-080201.jpg

Finally I get a chance to show you the look I wore Saturday night to a beach wedding in Mexico. I went for an of-the-moment nude dress since I had been dying for an opportunity to wear one. I was torn between wearing it with nude heels or black heels because I had decided to add a black belt to the ensemble, but ended up going for the nude choice, the lighter color felt more beach appropriate.
Now, one of my favorite things about this look is my hair and makeup. The wedding was nearby my hometown and I have been going to the same stylist there for over 10 years. She’s absolutely brilliant, seriously Hollywood stylists got nothing on her. We decided to do a deep red, almost burgundy, lip color, which I adored so much I ended up buying it on the spot. And the hair, a side updo with retro waves, I loved just as much.
So, what do you think of the dramatic lip, will you be wearing darker lips this season?
